Privacy Policy

노블윙 (Novelwing) ("we") · Effective date: October 26, 2026

Novelwing is a web app that helps web novel authors analyze their manuscripts, find places to submit their work, prepare submission materials, and send submission emails they have approved. This policy explains what information the app handles and how.

1. The short version

• No account or sign-up is required.
• Your manuscripts, analyses, submission records, attachments and AI key (OpenAI or Gemini) are stored only in your own browser (IndexedDB and localStorage on your device). We do not run a database for them and we never receive them.
• If you connect Google, we request permission only to send email on your behalf and to see your email address (to show which account sends). We cannot read, delete or modify your inbox. If you use Google Drive sync, we also request access to one hidden app folder in your Drive (see section 4).
• We do not sell, rent or share your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

2. Information stored in your browser

The following stays on your device and is not sent to our servers:

• Manuscript text you upload or write, and AI analysis results (including episode checks, short-form scripts and platform blurbs)
• Work titles, cover images, author profile you enter (pen name, contact, bio)
• Submission opportunities you find or add, submission records, deadlines and attachments
• Your AI key, OpenAI or Gemini (kept for the current tab, or on this device only if you choose)
• Your interface language preference

You can export this data as a backup file, and delete it at any time from My Works → My Data → Delete All in This Browser, or by clearing your browser's site data.

3. AI features (OpenAI and Google Gemini)

AI features run with your own AI key (OpenAI or Google Gemini). The following applies when you use an OpenAI key. When you use them, the relevant text (for example, an episode you ask to analyze, a question you ask, or your submission details) is sent directly from your browser to OpenAI to generate the result. Novelwing does not see or store these requests. OpenAI's handling of that data is governed by OpenAI's own terms and privacy policy (openai.com/policies). Costs are billed to your OpenAI account.

If you use your own Google Gemini API key instead, requests are sent the same way, directly from your browser to the Google Gemini API. Novelwing does not see or store them. On Gemini's free tier, Google may use what you send to improve its services and people may review it, under Google's terms (ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms).

Read aloud uses your browser's voices. Built-in voices stay on your device, but if you pick an online voice (such as Google or Microsoft), the text is sent to that company to be read.

4. Google user data (Gmail)

Connecting Google is optional. If you choose "Connect Google and Send Now" (in Submissions → Send), we use Google Identity Services and request these scopes:

• https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send: to send a submission email you have reviewed and approved, from your own Gmail account, with the attachments you selected.
• openid and email: to show which Google account will send the email.

How we handle this data:

• An email is sent only when you click the send button and confirm it. We never send email automatically.
• We do not request, read, store or analyze the contents of your mailbox.
• The access token Google gives us is kept only in your browser's memory for the current session (about one hour). It is not saved to disk and never sent to our servers. Emails go directly from your browser to Google's Gmail API.
• Your email address is shown on screen and saved with the submission record in your browser (to show which account sent it). It is not sent to us.
• You can disconnect at any time with the "Disconnect" button, and revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
• Google user data is not used for advertising, is not sold, and is not transferred to anyone. It is not used to train AI models.

Google Drive sync (optional). If you click "Save to Google Drive" in My Works → My Data, we request the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata scope and store one backup file (novelwing-backup.json, the same content as the backup file) in the hidden app data folder of your own Google Drive, so you can load it on another device. The app cannot see or change any other file in your Drive. The file goes directly between your browser and Google; it is never sent to us. It is used only for your own sync. You can delete it in Google Drive → Settings → Manage apps → Novelwing → Delete hidden app data.

Novelwing's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Hosting, logs and third-party services

• The site is hosted on Vercel. Like most hosting providers, Vercel may process standard technical request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver the site and keep it secure.
• Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts and jsDelivr (a public file server), and the Google sign-in library is loaded from Google when you connect Google.
• Links you open to Google or Naver search, official pages of contests, publishers or platforms, or email apps are governed by those services' own policies.
• We do not use analytics, tracking cookies or advertising scripts.

6. Children

Novelwing is not directed to children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

7. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above.

노블윙은 웹소설 작가가 원고를 분석하고, 투고처를 찾고, 투고 자료를 준비하고, 작가가 승인한 투고 메일을 보낼 수 있게 돕는 웹 앱입니다. 이 방침은 앱이 어떤 정보를 어떻게 다루는지 설명합니다.

1. 한눈에 보기

• 회원 가입이나 계정이 필요 없습니다.
• 원고, 분석 결과, 투고 기록, 첨부 자료, AI 열쇠(OpenAI 또는 Gemini)는 이용자의 브라우저 안에만(기기의 IndexedDB, localStorage) 저장됩니다. 저희는 이를 위한 데이터베이스를 운영하지 않으며 전달받지 않습니다.
• 구글을 연결하면 메일 보내기 권한과 보내는 계정을 보여 주기 위한 이메일 주소만 요청합니다. 받은편지함을 읽거나 지우거나 바꿀 수 없습니다. 구글 드라이브 동기화를 쓰면 드라이브의 숨은 앱 전용 폴더 하나에 대한 권한도 요청합니다(4번 참고).
• 정보를 판매, 대여, 공유하지 않으며 광고에 쓰지 않습니다.

2. 브라우저에 저장되는 정보

아래 정보는 이용자의 기기에만 남고 저희 서버로 보내지지 않습니다.

• 올리거나 쓴 원고와 AI 분석 결과(회차 진단, 숏폼, 소개글 결과 포함)
• 작품 제목, 표지 그림, 입력한 작가 정보(필명, 연락처, 이력)
• 찾거나 추가한 투고처, 투고 기록, 마감일, 첨부 자료
• AI 열쇠(OpenAI 또는 Gemini) (지금 탭에만, 또는 이용자가 고르면 이 기기에만 기억)
• 화면 언어 설정

이 정보는 백업 파일로 내보낼 수 있고, 내 작품 → 내 데이터 관리 → 이 브라우저에서 모두 지우기 또는 브라우저의 사이트 데이터 삭제로 언제든 지울 수 있습니다.

3. AI 기능 (OpenAI, Google Gemini)

AI 기능은 이용자 본인의 AI 열쇠(OpenAI 또는 Google Gemini)로 동작합니다. 아래는 OpenAI 열쇠를 쓸 때입니다. 사용할 때 필요한 글(예: 분석을 요청한 회차, 질문, 투고 정보)이 이용자의 브라우저에서 OpenAI로 바로 보내져 결과를 만듭니다. 노블윙은 이 요청을 보거나 저장하지 않습니다. OpenAI가 그 정보를 다루는 방식은 OpenAI의 약관과 개인정보 처리방침(openai.com/policies)을 따르며, 요금은 이용자의 OpenAI 계정에 청구됩니다.

OpenAI 열쇠 대신 이용자 본인의 Google Gemini 열쇠를 넣으면 같은 방식으로 이용자의 브라우저에서 Google Gemini API로 바로 보내집니다. 노블윙은 이 요청도 보거나 저장하지 않습니다. Gemini 무료 등급에서는 보낸 내용이 Google의 서비스 개선에 쓰이거나 사람이 검토할 수 있으며, Google의 약관(ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms)을 따릅니다.

소리 내어 읽기는 브라우저의 목소리를 씁니다. 기기에 들어 있는 목소리는 기기 안에서만 읽지만, 온라인 목소리(Google, Microsoft 등)를 고르면 읽을 글이 그 회사로 보내집니다.

4. 구글 사용자 데이터 (지메일)

구글 연결은 선택입니다. 투고 관리 → 보내기에서 "구글로 연결하고 바로 보내기"를 누르면 구글 로그인 도구(Google Identity Services)로 아래 권한을 요청합니다.

• https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send: 이용자가 읽고 승인한 투고 메일을, 고른 첨부와 함께 이용자 본인의 지메일에서 보내기 위해
• openid, email: 어떤 구글 계정으로 보내는지 화면에 보여 주기 위해

다루는 방식:

• 메일은 이용자가 보내기 버튼을 누르고 확인했을 때만 보냅니다. 자동으로 보내지 않습니다.
• 메일함의 내용을 요청, 열람, 저장, 분석하지 않습니다.
• 구글이 주는 접근 토큰은 지금 접속 동안(약 1시간) 브라우저 메모리에만 두고, 디스크에 저장하거나 저희 서버로 보내지 않습니다. 메일은 이용자의 브라우저에서 구글 지메일 API로 바로 갑니다.
• 이메일 주소는 화면에 표시되고, 어느 계정으로 보냈는지 알 수 있게 브라우저의 투고 기록에 함께 저장됩니다. 저희에게 보내지 않습니다.
• 언제든 "연결 끊기" 버튼으로 끊을 수 있고, myaccount.google.com/permissions에서 권한을 취소할 수 있습니다.
• 구글 사용자 데이터는 광고에 쓰지 않고, 판매하거나 다른 곳에 넘기지 않으며, AI 모델 학습에 쓰지 않습니다.

구글 드라이브 동기화 (선택). 내 작품 → 내 데이터 관리에서 "구글 드라이브에 저장"을 누르면 https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata 권한을 요청하고, 이용자 본인 구글 드라이브의 숨은 앱 전용 폴더에 백업 파일 하나(novelwing-backup.json, 백업 파일과 같은 내용)를 저장해 다른 기기에서 불러올 수 있게 합니다. 앱은 드라이브의 다른 파일을 보거나 바꿀 수 없습니다. 파일은 이용자의 브라우저와 구글 사이에서만 오가며 저희에게 보내지 않고, 이용자 본인의 동기화에만 씁니다. 구글 드라이브 → 설정 → 앱 관리 → 노블윙 → 숨겨진 앱 데이터 삭제에서 지울 수 있습니다.

노블윙이 Google API로부터 받은 정보를 사용하거나 다른 앱으로 전송하는 것은 제한적 사용(Limited Use) 요건을 포함한 Google API 서비스 사용자 데이터 정책을 준수합니다.

5. 호스팅, 기록, 외부 서비스

• 사이트는 Vercel에서 운영됩니다. Vercel은 사이트 제공과 보안을 위해 일반적인 접속 기술 정보(IP 주소, 브라우저 종류 등)를 처리할 수 있습니다.
• 글꼴은 Google Fonts와 jsDelivr(공개 파일 서버)에서 불러오고, 구글을 연결할 때 구글 로그인 도구를 구글에서 불러옵니다.
• 이용자가 여는 구글, 네이버 검색, 투고처 공식 페이지, 메일 앱 링크는 각 서비스의 방침을 따릅니다.
• 방문 분석 도구, 추적 쿠키, 광고 스크립트를 쓰지 않습니다.

6. 아동

노블윙은 만 14세 미만 아동을 대상으로 하지 않으며, 아동의 개인정보를 알면서 수집하지 않습니다.

7. 변경

이 방침을 바꾸면 이 페이지와 위의 시행일을 함께 고칩니다.
